"Dara" na listi potencijalnih kandidata za Oskara

Za razliku od prošle godine, kada je na ovoj listi bilo 344 naslova, ove godine ih je više, što se objašnjava i time što je rok za prijave produžen zbog pandemije, a i sama ceremonija je odložena za 25. april. Ove godine je uslov za dolazak na ovu listu bio da filmovi budu premijerno prikazani do 28. februara u bar jednom od šest američkih gradova ili okruga: Los Anđeles, Njujork, na području zaliva San Franciska, u Čikagu, Majamiju ili Atlanti."Dara iz Jasenovca" ispunila je taj uslov, s obzirom da je premijerno prikazana u Americi početkom februara. Bosanskohercegovačkog kandidata za Oskara, filma "Quo vadis, Aida" sarajevske rediteljke Jasmile Žbanić sa novosadskom glumicom Jasnom Đuričić nema na toj listi. Sa druge strane, "Quo vadis, Aida" uvrštena je u uži izbor u kategoriji za najbolji film na stranom jeziku, ali "Dara iz Jasenovca" nije.Međutim, to što je "Dara iz Jasenovca" na ovoj listi pre znači upravo samo to: ispunila je uslove. S obzirom na konkurenciju, i ulazak u uži izbor u kategoriji za najbolji strani film bio bi ravan čudu.
